As chronic lifestyle diseases and climate change continue to increase at a rapid pace, many people are now coming to terms with the fact that we must change our lifestyles in order to survive and thrive in the coming years.

We are finally beginning to realize that the way we eat, the way we produce, and the way we live are deeply intertwined with our health and with the health of the planet we live on. They are inseparable.

While it is vital that we are able to feed all of the people on earth, we must do so in a way that is healthy and sustainable. After years of trying to do this through factory farming and processed foods, there is now a general awareness of the importance of natural foods and farming methods to health and ecological balance.

Thankfully, that has not meant that we will not eat well. On the contrary, natural foods are also usually more nutritious and better tasting than industrial ones. Nothing is better than sharing a delicious home-cooked meal with friends and family!

As ardent advocates for natural foods, delicious cooking, the environment, and human wellness, is proud to offer this $1,000 scholarship to students that share these passions–including an appreciation for olive oil.

In particular, this scholarship is for students that are currently, or planning on, studying any field that has to do with food, plant agriculture, nutrition, the environment, or the intersection of these fields.

While an essay is not necessary, preference will be given to students that can include an essay on a relevant topic of their choice, which we may publish on our site.

Selection Criteria: passion, optional essay, studying food, nutrition, or the environment.
Application Deadline: May 31, 2021
